Author: I can’t believe how gas prices continue to soar, is there even a reason for it? Most of us have no choice but to pay the high prices at the pumps because we need to get places and how are we going to get there without our cars?
I had a really bad experience recently related to gas. Last month I ended up really short on money, I thought I would make it through though since I only had 5 days to go until my next paycheck. I was basically living on a prayer, hoping that my gas would last me and that I wouldn’t run out of groceries until that day. I thought I was doing well until I was driving around and failed to notice that my car was on empty. I had been driving all day and didn’t notice that it was low (this happens a lot, but I usually have money). Suddenly it felt like my car was slowing down and it sort of starting to make a jerking sensation, that’s when I realized I was screwed!! I looked at my dashboard and saw that the light was on, I couldn’t believe that being the in the situation I was in, I didn’t make a point to look. So I pulled over, my car completely dead at this point and I was about 35 miles from home. I called a cab, and when he got to me I had to explain that I had no money and asked if he would accept a payment over the phone by credit card from a friend of mine, he reluctantly accepted, I think only because I was in tears. I also had to embarrassingly call a friend and ask if he would pay for my cab ride home. I have never been so humiliated in my life, I am grateful that the taxi driver was kind enough to accept my offer.
When I got home, I went online right away to look for a place where I could get a cash advance. I found a place that offered pretty decent rates and entered in my information, I got a response pretty quickly, within 10 minutes. By the next morning I got the money in my account, $250 to be exact, it was the perfect amount to get me through the next 5 days and enough to pay back my friend for the taxi ride. I called a cab to come pick up, funny enough it was same guy, I saw that his first reaction was like “Oh not this girl again”, but I quickly reassured him that I had money this time. I made him drive me to the bank first to withdraw some money so I could prove to him that I had the cash. I then ran into wal-mart to buy a gas can and then had the taxi driver drive me a gas station where I could fill up my can. He then drove me back to my car where I paid him and hopefully would see him for the last time. I filled up my car and took off to go back home. Fieuf! That was a lot.
I’m sure there could have been easier way to do it, but that’s how it happened. I had always heard bad stuff about cash advance places, but I actually found it pretty easy and rather accommodating. The process was simple and hassle free and did I mention quick?
